“Everything about this resort gets high marks from my husband and I. From the views, the grounds, the wharf, the owners and employees, to the beautiful rooms and amenities. It was one of the highlights of our trip on the Sunshine Coast. Looking forward to staying there again.”

Beautiful BC Sunshine Coast Getaway…
“We just spent four days in stunningly beautiful and quiet Madeira Park, a tiny town comprising two of the hideaway coves of Pender Harbour, B.C. Pender Harbour is a cluster of inlets and villages on the eastern edge of the Juan de Fuca Straights.
The Sunshine Coast Resort includes several multi-unit buildings and two cottages stepped up a terraced hillside above the resort’s sizable marina. Hosts Ralph & Silka Linmann take excellent care of their guests and their facilities. Ralph is the public face and seemingly tireless worker who never stops from dawn to dusk, but who always has time for a friendly chat or to give useful and amiable recommendations or quickly provide any needed services.
Our unit #204 probably offers the most spectacular views of the entire cove, but all units seem to have good views, as does the spacious sauna/spa/lounge deck on one of the lower terraces. While access between units, spa deck, and marina require some stiff stair-climbing, Ralph is always willing to whiz you between levels in his golf cart.
The only downside we experienced was a certain amount of noise from the folks in the unit above ours, but only when they trod heavily on their exterior deck. Balance this with a setting of clean comfort, heavenly beauty, great service, and general silence [other than eagle cries and beaver tails slapping on the water] and I think Sunshine Coast Resort and Marina is a complete winner. Enjoy!”

Great Accommodations with Spectacular Views…
“After considerable research, we selected the Sunshine Coast Resort Hotel & Marina as one of our places to stay while vacationing in British Columbia and Washington. We spent three days there, and without a doubt, this resort is one of the finest. This waterfront location is beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained with an abundance of trees, shrubs and flowers to enhance your enjoyment of the property. The view of the marina and harbor is spectacular. Our room was extremely clean and well decorated, and it provided us with all the necessities required to make us very comfortable.
The owner, Ralph, was a wonderful host. He provided us with excellent restaurant recommendations and information regarding things to do in the area. He really contributed in making our visit to the Sunshine Coast a memorable one. If you’re looking for a quiet location on the Sunshine Coast with picturesque views, beautiful landscaping, clean and comfortable rooms and a gracious host, don’t miss this one! It was absolutely fantastic!”

A Great Family Getaway!
“We decided to have a quick getaway during Spring Break and I looked on the website for a destination on the Sunshine Coast. This resort appealed to me because it had one bedroom suites with a kitchenette. This worked out really well for our family with a 4 month old and 23 month old.
March is not the ideal time to visit the Sunshine Coast but we were pleasantly surprised to have only rain showers (while the rest of Vancouver had solid rain). It was really cold but we came prepared with our fleece and rain jackets!
We stayed in the luxury one bedroom suites. The suites are well designed so that they do not share a wall with any other room. We had a patio suite which allowed us to enter and exit without having to use the hallway. The suite was smaller than I expected but it was very clean and the kitchen was equipped with all the basic cooking gear. (We prepared all our meals in the kitchen during our 3 day stay). The fireplace was a nice addition and well used after chilly evening walks on the beach. The king-sized bed, robes and chocolates added to our comfortable stay. My sister-in-law travelled with us and was given a room with an exterior entrance (since she was travelling with her dog). She was impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the good-sized deck & the fabulous view. (Regarding one of the previous reviews, in my opinion the newer lodge is a definite upgrade over the older one & would be recommended over the older lodge).
The owner was very hospitable and brought us a BBQ & crib (Pack n’ Play) promptly when requested. He was friendly and asked more than once if there was anything else we needed when we saw him around the resort.
The resort itself has a great location in Pender Harbour. We enjoyed walking on the beach at low tide (not much access at high tide), looking at the boats in the marina and the children’s play area. The hot tub (with an amazing view) was open but we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it!We enjoyed hiking at beautiful Francis Point Park (a 15 minute drive). On a previous trip to the area, my husband and I had a fabulous dinner at a restaurant across the bay in Garden Bay. The Skookumchuk is another great walk and there are lots of great little communities to check out. We’ve really enjoyed each trip we’ve made to the Sunshine Coast & especially enjoyed our accommodations at the SCR!”

A Very Special Experience
“My husband took me here for my Birthday – We rented one of the new cottages. Just beautiful – especially the PRIVATE hot tub on the outdoor deck! The owner is very customer savvy. Amazing landscaping – and just a short walk to the best food/pub on the Coast. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Spend the money for the cottage with hot tub!”

A wonderful hotel with service to match…
“This was a great find and we were so happy to have stayed 3 days here. We had a wonderful room (210) and the view was a perfect way to start each day. The place was very clean and friendly staff. We used the kayaks (for free after 6pm) to paddle across the bay to the pub for dinner. The marina was a great place for kids to fish. The hotel is very central and makes day trips very easy. The owner helped us with some really good insiders knowledge on the area and allowed us to visit some out of the way places we probably wouldn’t have found. We hope to come back again.”

Beautiful Scenery from our Room…
“We hadn’t been up the Sunshine Coast in many years so hit Yelp to find a spot to stay. Boy did we hit pay dirt! The accommodations are amazing, self contained, comfortable and with wonderful views! The staff are very friendly. A quick stop at the Maderia Park IGA and we were ready to hibernate. We decided within 2 hours to book our annual November getaway back here in one of the executive cottages. Many many thanks to Ralph and his staff for a fabulous 3 days.”

Wonderful Place for a Weekend Get Away…
“Just returned from a very pleasant four-night stay at the Sunshine Coast Resort. Rooms were spotless, and our balcony had an excellent view of Pender Harbour. The hot tub deck was particularly inviting. No meals are provided, but it’s very close to Madeira Park, where there’s a good grocery store & small cafes. There’s a pub at the top of the drive as well that’s quite popular. We typically “self-catered,” however, which worked fine, since the kitchen was reasonably equipped. It was rainy, so we didn’t take advantage of their offer to make arrangements for trips on the water, instead opting for short hikes and visits up and down the coast. This was an excellent base for the trip!”

The Room was Perfect…
“I stayed here for Two nights in the last week of August, thought we may not get a room but got to see what the 2 different cottages looked like. we first stayed in the Junior Cottage which is a 2 bedroom near the water. We did enjoy this cottage as we found it to be quit private the way the building was facing people from up the hill could not peer down on you while you are enjoying the view with a bar-b-cue on the front porch. We really like the idea of using the kayaks after 6pm so you can kayak across the bay for dinner.
The next morning we walked the Skookumchuck trail and saw the rapids, amazing. What was more amazing is when
We got back we were in one of the executive suite cottages, wow!! We have never stayed in anything like this before. Hot tub on the deck and a space shuttle nasa looking type jacuzzi tub enough to fit three. In the cottage there was enough room for 6 so it was more than enough room for us all. Our son took the upstairs 2 queens with remote control shutters for the skylights, remote air, if it got too hot, remote control double sided fireplace, so it can be enjoyed from the king size master bedroom and the main living room. Also the chocolates put throughout the room is a nice touch, especially if you want a nice piece of chocolate after a nice meal. Also the Wifi has been the fastest I have experienced at any hotel, motel or resort. As some People experience user overload when staying in some kinds of hotels or resorts, this was not the case, it looked like it was faster than my own home wifi. This I found while using during prime time like after dinner.
Ralph we thought was very friendly and when requested gets things done or to you in no time. We will be back for sure.”

Excellent place to stay!…
“We can’t say enough good things about this place. We come to the area every year for the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival, and this resort never disappoints. We typically stay in one of the chalets, and enjoy the peace and quiet, the privacy, and the hot tub on the private deck. The owners do everything they can to make this a great stay. We can’t imagine staying anyplace else!”

Great views, rooms, and service…
“We traveled to the Sunshine Coast for a family vacation, and this resort was exactly what we wanted. We had one of the executive penthouse suites (I think that’s what it’s called), which have been recently remodeled and have great kitchens with pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and salt&pepper (but no cooking oil). The views are fantastic, especially at sunset, since it overlooked the harbor directly. One thing we liked in particular about the room was the king + 2 twin beds setup rather than the traditional 2 queen/double beds. In addition, there are a number of crab traps the resort has for guest use at the end of the dock, and they even provide a large pot for boiling the crabs upon request. Finally, the owner was VERY helpful in giving advice on 1) restaurants 2) hiking trails 3) swimming spots and 4) fishing spots. We rented one of the boats from the hotel and took it to go fishing for a few hours, and the owner helped us set up the rods (available for rent) and gave us very straightforward instructions on where to go and how to drive the boat and how to fish. Would have loved to stay another few days since the area is so beautiful.”
